The images of 10 and 13 are the front and back view of the clip (effectively). I don't want to take a photo of mine (took ages to get to stay put after the centre section which locks it into place broke off). There is a "keyhole" shaped hole in the top bit (that you are looking at in the number 10 view). The back has a metal tang with a cross bar, that as you compress the clip and slide onto the groove around the shaft locates and locks onto the slot across the shaft. It is a bugger to describe and an even bigger bugger to figure out in the dark and tucked away in the cowl panel. Without the metal t piece, the clip works its way loose and pops out every dozen or so revolutions of the wiper motor. Unless you manage to bend a piece of number 8 wire just so and can wedge it into the clip and through the slot.

BigCav With regards to your pictures, for the LH/LX diagram, there is actually three clips used. They are Item Numbers 4, 10 and 13. These clips are as follows; 4. Clip - Drive Link to Wiper Motor. Pt no: SP1986 QTY: 1 10. Clip - Driven Link Attaching. Pt no: SP2383 QTY: 2 13. Clip - Drive Link to Pivot. Pt no: SP2383 QTY: 1 As you can see, the SP2383 that is used on the HQ, is also used on the LH/ LX and UC. cheers Mick Edited by user Tuesday, 25 May 2010 10:02:13 PM(UTC)

yes that correct, but just incase u missed it your number 10 and number 13 are the same part number and hence the same clip so there is only the 2 types of clips from my understanding all the ones pictured with arrows and colored blue in the hq an lh-lx pictures are all the exact same clip i was only after info on this 1 clip as its the one im having issues with at the moment. thanks for the reply cav

for NOW it will be just the sp2383, the other may come in the future but the sp2383 is the priority at the moment as it was a product we sold untill last year and we would like it back again A.S.A.P

Hi guys, After some discussions with Cav over on the GMH-Torana forums, we discovered something very interesting regarding this clip above (Part No SP1986 for the drive link to wiper motor on LH/LX)... Cav kindly sent me a Rare's "C5ZZ17531A" which is a clip to suit XR-XC Ford... see pic below... and guess what... it's a perfect fit! I trial fitted one to my LX Hatchback today and it snapped into place like a dream, a nice tight fit with no slack. Absolutely rapt. Thanks again Cav. Here's the item in question: Cheers, Brett.
