I will weigh in here to express my great frustration and disbelief at the rubbish tha passes as RS repro badges.

One example is a badge my son prodly bought me for fathers day a few years back.
I was very pleased to recieve the LJ GTR grille badge ( RS ) and you can emagine my huge dissapointment when I went to fit it!

It wasn't just a case of having mounding off an original with no allowance for shrinkage,in fact the only things right were the letters GTR!
In their "great wisdom" they had obviously decided that the pins could be placed in any position and at any length shorter than the original!

All this meant that the badge could not be installed in a horizontal plane and there was no way that the original clips could be made fit!
And like a previous comment I was told "thats how they are"
So eventually I was one of the guys that paid nearly double the RS price to get an original one that actually fitted!

These badges do not even seem to be the same colour either, as far as I have seen the LJ ones were orange not red, RS paint all theirs red weather they are LC or LJ.
Then there are their other GTR badges they sell as fitting LC and LJ, appart from being the wrong colour they are modeled on the side badges of a LC GTR these are curved at the top to suit the side stripe and body line of that model, well RS sell them as LJ ones which were actually straight on the top edge.
Maybe some of these have been since improved, but I wouldn't know, as I will not go anywhere them as I have had so many dissapointments!
From these dissapointments I have become a WA agent for another brand of Torana reproduction parts, I make no money at all on these sales, but I have the satisfaction that I am getting the WA LC LJ Torana retsorers some of the proper parts for their special cars.
I could go on all night, but I will finish off by saying why do they bother having rubbish tooling made in the first place, surely if they can't do it right, leave it to someone who can?
