It was a special edition built to showcase the 253. AFAIK all were 253 3speed HT Kingswood sedans.

From page 42 of my book:-

"GM-Hs first limited-edition option package special was seen in the HT series, based on the Kingswood sedan. The White Hot Special as it was tagged, featured the new small 253 ci V8 as standard, mated to the all-synchro 3-speed column shift manual. Other equipment included: power front disc brakes, GTS wheel trims and white-wall tyres. It was only available in Kashmir White, with Gold (11E) or Blue (14E) vinyl interior trim. They were priced to compete against the oppositions 6-cylinder models of the time."

5000 units were produced & released in Sept 1969 at an RRP of $2,718. They didn't get GTS instruments or anything else not mentioned above. For ID they must have the model number 80469 & trim number 1192-11E (or 14E).

A good friend of mine has a great rust free one. It has the blue interior, GTS caps. Definately no GTS interior. What would these be worth? Comparable to a premier?

I'd say they'd be worth the same as any other V8 HT Kingswood sedan, but not as much as a 307 example or a 308 especially 308 manual or even a 253 4spd. A 308 manual HT Kingswood would be a hell of a lot rarer than 5000, closer to 50! I have seen lots of White Hot specials, but only one 308 manual HT Kingswood which was Warrigal black with red trim, 308-Saginaw-10bolt, radius rods etc.
Any HK-HG in good condition is worth good $ though. A rusty 6cyl car with good bits on it is easily a $800+ car to a wreckers nowadays. A rust free car probably wouldn't get wrecked but would still wreck out for good $. A complete original 253H engine with all accessories is probably worth $1500+ to the right buyer.

As Byron has said, a White Hot is worth what you can get for any HT Kingswood V8 sedan.

IMHO an equivalent Premier would be worth more.

Unlike an HQ SS or an LH G-Pack, a White Hot Special has nothing actually 'Special' about it.

My Grandfather had a white hot special when new. White,253, blue trim and sports hubcaps like on gts. I thought it was the ants pants as a 5 yr old. I think the holden stunt drivers used these at the easter show in Sydney back then but can't be sure.

Back in 1979/80, a mate bought a white HT Kingswood sedan. Clean car with a few features that strike me as this sort of vehicle. Motor was a 253 with a 4 speed. Interior was the gold colour including buckets with a GM-H factory console including tacho. Not sure which 4 speed was fitted, but it was extremely tall in first gear managing 50mph if wringing it's neck. The only mod that we were aware of at the time was slightly wider than stock rims fitted, maybe 1" wider. These were chromed with stock hub caps. One aspect of the car that stood out to me was front drums. From memory, he bought it from the original owner.
Any thoughts if this could have been a 'white hot special'?

Hi Doc,

Have a look at this link:

http://www.allclassified...display-ad?cid=123681656

I presume from your advice above that this chap can't have have what he claims to as the White Hot Special was HT only and not HG.

Notice that he says the car is a 71 HG that is 'fully badged (Rare) White Hot Special'

Was there any special badging on a HT White Hot Special? - I assume not based on your post above
