How do i flush out radiator ?Will running the hose in the fill up point and disconnecting top radiator hose let the block clean itself too and should i spin the water pump somehow at the same time? Do i have to disconnect radiator completly and flush block seperately to do it properly.thanks in advance -keeo

Buy some rad flush and follow directions. Turn heater on so it gets a dose to. Pull bottom hose off and drain it out. If you can put air pressure through the system it will shift heaps more crap. Make one by brazing a tube valve stem into a piece of water pipe that will fit into the top hose. Turn the block drain taps on if it has them to drain the block as well.

Thats a good idea the air pressure bit ,i didnt know about the rad flush thanks wbute .

the radiator shops remove the top and bottom tanks and flush water through the core then put the ends back on

If you are going to do all that then make sure you either clean your radiator cap of all dirt etc or replace it.A lot of people forget the cap and try to work out why they still have problems.The slightest piece of rust, scale or dirt under the lower plate lets the pressure out and stops the cap from doing it's proper job.

How do you choose the correct cap, 13PSI or 15PSI ? Is it something to do with having air cond?

13PSI or 15PSI are both listed as options for my HQ350

The 6 cyl takes the 13 and the 8 takes the 15psi.The difference is about 3 degrees in temperature.If you have a coolant recovery system fitted then ensure you use that type of cap. The standard radiator cap was used where the pressure relief is by pipe direct to the ground.
