Frank, if you ever get the chance, sit down with Ben for 5 minutes and talk to him about HK-HQ Monaros. Then come back and tell us if you think he is the right person for the job.

ok byron,
i didnt say he was not the wrong man for the job, just asked who gives who and what gives anyone the authority and rights to say who is correct and what is correct, thats all.
and one day maybe i will get the chance and may take the opportunity to talk with him, be a good day for both ben and myself i'd imagine, you never know, he may learn something, and i might as well.

as i said back on the 12/6 in reply to warrens post, it really is of little to no relevence to me on who is judging and what is being judged, you guys just need to have on the day, and once again i will feel the fun has gone from it.

from all accounts he is just that, infact he dropped by my mates on tueday of the week just gone in his platinum HT 350 that he put together and got from fat tony and i was told he compimented the trim work that my friend did for him, anyone that does that obviously is a decent person.
when you are passionate, you get committed, and commitment breeds passion, so to that i take my hat off to him.

That's fair. Just ignore all what I said apart from sitting down and talking to Ben for 5 minutes. Once you do it you'll understand what I meant.

Its true Frank, he is GOD in HKTG Land and is one of the nicest people you will meet , and is one of the few people who has an open minded opinion to things and see all sides of all .
He came down and visited me while in Melbourne a while back , and we discussed many things . No one else knows more than he does on the full spectrum of the subject .

You posted the RSP internal letter. Then you edited your post and removed it. Then you ask what everyone thinks. They won't have a clue if they cannot read it.

Anyway, my view. Firstly I am not a blind RSP supporter and am happy to buy from any honest supplier who provides resonable value, quality and service.

Haven't seen Phil's stuff. After reading your phantom post I am thinking that RSP is asking their agents and resellers to be fair dinkum by demonstrating their product. Can't be more fair dinkum than that.
I have a small business and I believe that my products are good quality and value.
I am not interested in selling crap to meet a competitors pricing or dropping the price to compete with a cheaper lower quality product. I would rather concentrate on proving the quality of what I sell.
Anyone can "add water" and drop the price.
If Phil is upset by that then maybe he should firstly make sure
that his cheaper product is of the same quality a RSP. If RSP is being untrue about the quality then he has something to argue about.

I am happy to buy from Phil if his stuff is good value and Quality.

Nick

Hi

I am not preaching on behalf of our friends at GM-H and Rare Spares and some may not like to agree but now that GM-H has put it's name in the ring ALL parts with their brand name on them MUST be considered to be genuine parts and therefore cannot be negatively affected when Judged in car shows.

Before you all go calling me names for bringing this up I state that my HK GTS was restored using heaps factory new old stock parts. So if this is correct then my car would be one which could be challenged by a fresh restoration using the Rare Spares-Holden Parts.

As much as I dislike Rare Spares' LAME excuses for pedalling items in it's range which are of poor fit and quality i.e. (and I quote):" If it doesn't fit, send it back for a full refund" has no regard for the time, effort and expense people go through in the in the buying process (VERY UNPROFESSIONAL)the fact remains that these bits have the GM-H brand name on them.

Some just want to sh1tbag companies like RS without fully understanding the huge investment this company has made. Teaming with Holden looks like a logical solution to the absolute drought of hard to get bits available for old Holdens.

Take a look at GM USA and there is now a huge range of GM branded paerts which are considered acceptable in show. It took them a while to get it right but their range is better than it was.

It seems to me that there is a degree of customer dissapointment in RS when it comes to price quality and fit. If GM-H is fair dinkum about their standards and expectations then they will drive quality and value into this new joint venture. Affordable quality is the reason for the success of GM-H since it started and if this is not applied to this partnership it would most definately affect it's reputation with other areas of it's business like new car sales. Like many of us who have an old Holden in the shed we more than likely have a late model Holden daily driver as well.
Cheers

How low can one go??
Well it seems that Graham Price (lx5008)knows of no boundaries when it comes to common decency. To publish in full on this forum a 'stolen' internal Rare Spares document says a great deal about this character does it not? Furthermore, we note the post was published on FastLane on two consecutive evenings for approximately 4 hours which in itself is quite intriguing. The private document in question was sent to our Distributors and related to a quality comparison between Rare Spares door rubbers and those of a competitor. There is nothing in the document that was either malicious or untrue. We simply don't find it necessary, or ethical to 'publicly' crititise products of other competitors.
What is interesting here is that lx5008 has consistently and vehemently criticised our door seals to the point where we flew our Deputy General Manager (Lance Corby) up to Newcastle to check the rubbers on both his Torana as well as those on Mick Mc Ardle's Torana (SStorana). After discovering that Mick had issues with his doors the problem was solved (see Mick's previous post)and it was agreed the door seals were fine. However, even though Lance went to all the trouble to fly up to Newcastle Graham Price gave him some lame excuse for not presenting his car.It should not be too difficult for all forum members to draw the right conclusion from this!
We very much support constructive criticism in all areas of our business as it assists us to run a better company. As a result improvements are made every day, both in terms of quality and the service we provide. However, we do not believe it to be reasonable, or in any way ethical to use this Forum, or any others for anyone to mount a vendetta against Rare Spares or against any other company for that matter. We can only imagine Graham's motives, however we make the same offer to him as we did to Mick and that's to come down to Melbourne for the day and talk to us. In spite of what he may think, we are actually decent people operating a decent professional business.
Sincerely

Graham you do yourself and FastLane a real disservice with that less than courageous response. As if we would go to all the expense and valuable time to send up one of our key members to Newcastle if there weren't firm arrangements made to inspect your car. The reality is that you as a 'self proclaimed Torana expert', simply didn't want to be embarrassed with being wrong in your criticisms of our door rubbers.

Secondly, the document in question did not leave my office (it remains in a locked filing cabinet) and only the door samples were distributed to our retail staff - they didn't need convincing the other rubbers were inferior!!To suggest that one of the Rare Spares staff leaked the document to you is nonsense Graham and you know it. By all accounts none of them have ever heard of you sorry! If we persue this matter legally then you may have to come up with a name besides Mickey Mouse. Call me anytime Graham.

*Persue* The act of 'being' in a period of time that is completed by death. The act of 'being' however is distorted and blurred by the act of 'having' in today's social twisted folk. Consequently society and its subordinates don't persue their real aim of 'being' but are forced by mass media and propaganda-spreading so-called governments to the act of 'having' which is therefore a self-destructive act and will result in the implosion of mankind.

hmmmm ok then , lets persue!

cheers!
