Hello,can anyone tell me what sort of factory 4spd gearbox would be in a 186 HG Premier.The car has never been touched or modded in any way.Cheers,Mick G

Most likely an Opel , but could be an optioned Sagginjaw (Saginaw) but very unlikely as few were made. www.monaromuscleparts.com

Fellows.I checked the 4spd car out again,it turns out it's a HT not a HG Prem.What sort of box?What should I look 4?The Car needs a total,but has not been altered.Whats it worth.Cheers boys,Mick G

Same, ie Opel 4spd. It would almost always only be a Saginaw if it was originally a 253 or possibly a 308 in late HT. As James says some 6cyl Saginaw passenger vehicles were made, but normally the only 6cyl Saginaws were utes and vans.

I pulled a Saginaw out of an HK Prem wagon, put it behind a 308 in an HX ute.

i pulled 350 4sp muncie out of genuine HQ GTS coupe in 1985, put it in me ute that i had, gave the guards to me mate, they went on a tonner, the rest went to the tip, we even watched as the D9 drove over it and burst the window glass out of it, thought it was cool then actually, so yeah..
