I reckon these guys have miss read the market. Who wants a new monaro? Certainly no one in 2002 to 2006 LOL! I think there are more people out there that would buy a "new 4 door HB Torana body shell" I know I know I can hear the screams from around this wide brown land and overseas of torana owners now panicked and shocked by what this will mean to the HB Torana Nationals Concours judging! Forget monaros what new body shells do you think should be made. And forget f/,d GT there are already more on the road than f/,d built in the first place!

Being serious, I reckon what most people would want is a HQ or HJ/HX coupe shell. HK-HG is nice, but HQ-WB are a much better everyday driver. Imagine being able to buy a brand new complete HQ or HJ coupe shell and buy a donor VN-VZ to put through it.

<----puts both hands up agreeing with the above post and i will add to it now, gone is my choice of BBC into a HQ, i would now run LS2 GEN111 from something more current, remove injection and replace with GM intake and a carbie and control it all with a MSD box part number 6010. the motors are light, plentiful and easily make 600hp without even raisn a sweat, and best of all, still very driveable , how good is that??? The advantage of the HQ to HX coupe shell is it has no identifier, so all you need is a front chassis. You can actually register a car without the compliance plate and use the chassis number on the chassis to register it. They then just make sure the car complies with the chassis number stamped into the chassis.
Save up any HQ chassis lying around, they will be worth a motza, each one is a Monaro in the making.
They will all be Melbourne bodies, ie no plate under the spare wheel.

We still want rust repair sections, quarters etc for HK-HG! I just think HQ-HX shells make more sense.

How about combining a few of the suggestions. Recreate the HQ 2 door monaro with the ute body grafted to it. Or the HK monaro with the panel van attached. Think of the bog that won,t be used, thats like saving the planet as well, oh and of course a BBC must fit.
