Hi fellas,

Not sure if my link will work - haven't tried attaching a link before.

Maybe this item is a treasure for someone. Strikes me it may be a con to get someone to pay a lot of money for a set of triples and headers, in the hope of picking up a 'real' 186X as a bargain.

Did many of the early XU1's get the 186X motor?

186X engines as far as I know were for GTR-X. Those stamps don't look like Holden stamps though.

186K were also HR X2. I've seen a few of these in sheds over the years.

Hi Guys,
That so called 186X looks very much like one I examined, without intending to put down this one incase I am wrong, I advise anyone buying such Items to look at them very closely.
The one I looked at had been tampered with by the first didgit being peined in and restamped X consequently I had no confidence that it was what it was claimed to be.
Buyer beware!

Mike

its value depends on who wants it, a guy in our club paid $3500. for a rebuilt JP XU1 engine as it turned out to be the original one to his car and wanted it to make it matching numbers again.
