I'm looking at replacing the rear main seal in my VT SS (Gen3 LS1), how hard are these to do without removing the engine. I have access to a hoist.

you dont remove the engine, you pull the trans, get new seal and plate and plate gashet, and voila, done in half a day, well thats how long it took me to do mine

You may also need a speedy sleeve to return the crank to a flat surface for the seal to run against

Whats this speedy sleeve you talk of. Where do you get one of these?
