I have a BA Fairmont that locks up when you press the button on the key ring but if you lift the door handle on the passenger door it unlocks the whole car again.Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? Thanks.

Yep, it's the door lock actuator on the door that unlocks the others, they're about 60 or 70 bucks on e-bay and fairly easy to fit yourself.
