Hi what level of info can you get from Holden about your car from the HK-HZ era? What details do you need to give them? just the vin number?

They have next to no records for HK-HZ, they will just decipher your VIN.
You will get more info if you post your numbers here on Fastlane. There are several guys here that can tell you a lot more than what Holden can tell you.
Dr Terry.

Domc, The Doc is correct.
I happened to chat to a bloke in Holden some years back re the 60th Birthday, in passing i asked whether i could get info on my EH and HG.
He informed me that as an apprentice it was one of his tasks to destroy the micro fich for these cars.
So unlike the Ford lads, Holden has squat for pre 75

Those discs are not GM-H production records. They are service records of some type, made after the vehicle was sold. That's why there are so many errors & omissions. Hi all, Don't know about pre 75 but I have a 1979 HZ SLE Statesman and a 1981 SLE Commodore and they can tell me nothing about those models. deciphering VIns well that is another story it took three letters of Authenticity from Holden before they got it right, then they had no I dea it was a Bathurst 73.
Be great to think some records would be dicsovered in a back room somewhere, but it is not going to happen.
If Police records become publically available after 100 years then maybe our grabndsons might have a chance!
Mike

funny i should come across this thread today as i just got a letter of confirmation from holden customer assistance on my 1971 hq ls 350...AND THEY GOT IT RIGHT...im pretty sure it was 2 months ago that i emailed them the details so its not a fast process...being a 1971 hq most plebs with money do not believe that it is a genuine 350 so now i will have another shot at selling it armed with my letter from holden.. going to church makes you no more a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car... www.classicozwreck.com.au |
