Ive nearly wired up the 304 into my HQ but Ive found that I have some missing plugs..
I have a VN computer and LOOM but a VS motor.

Where does the Oxygen sensor plug into? On the VS loom I saw the plug near the injector plugs, but on the VN I cannot find any plug for o2 sensor.

Also cant find the plug for the coolant temperature sensor. This again is near the injector plugs on the VS loom but I cannot find them on the VN loom.

Im sure the VN ran an O2 Sensor and a Temp Sensor.

Any ideas people???

VN did indeed run oxy & temp sensors, same as the VS.

The only variation in the actual motors is if you are running a VS3 (VT style) 5L with the MAF, not a MAP sensed VN-VS2 engine.

The temp senders are beside each other on the front of the manifold, under the t/body elbow, so it should be easy to find the 2 plugs together. You'll find them on the branch of the loom that also goes to the TPS & IAC on the throttle body.

The oxy sensor plug will possibly only be on the passenger side from memory (or maybe both - I can't remember without checking).

The dizzy plug is different between VN & VS, but you can cut it off & change it (or use the relevant dizzy in your motor) - it should be right near the coil wires in the loom.

Cheers,

Mick

After comparing the VN and VS 304 wiring diagrams I have come up with this..

OXYGEN SENSOR (According to Diagrams)
VN - One single VIOLET wire (power/signal) and a separate EARTH
VS - 1 plug with 2 outlets (power violet) and BLACK EARTH

Can I just run this black earth to a new EARTH on the body? If so very easy swap of violet plug.

COOLANT TEMP SENSOR (According to Diagrams)
VN - Black/Yellow wire and a YELLOW wire
VS - Black/Yellow wire, YELLOW wire

On my COOLANT TEMP plug I have a third GREY/YELLOW WIRE. According to the VS wiring diagram there isn't a GREY/YELLOW wire drawn? What is this third wire.

DISTRIBUTOR (According to Diagrams)
VN - LtBLUE/WHITE (signal), WHITE/BLACK (12v) and GREY/RED (ground)
VS - LtBLUE/WHITE (signal), WHITE/BLACK (12v) and GREY/RED (ground)

My VS dizzy plug has a GREY/GREEN wire instead of the LtBLUE/WHITE, but I'm assuming its the signal wire anyway.

Can someone help me out with the COOLANT TEMP Grey/Yellow wire?
