Ive been searching for some genuine Nylex long grain vinyl and also some genuine Nylex golfball both in Buckskin (63V) for about 2 years now.
I got hold of some chamois golfball. (60V) a while back. Which was handy as I can easily die it upto buckskin.
But I have now found some Nylex golfball vinyl in what I would call about a 62V. Its not quite buckskin.
What other models used the golfball insert? Other than the HZ GTS. The HZ did not have a 61 or 62 trim. Wondering if a torana or something may have?
Got hold of some Nylex long grain in buckskin also. Good score that one!!! But still need more. I only got 3.5m
Cheers Jason

Trying to find the nylex long grain was a hard task years ago when we rebuilt my brother's HJ. Dark green was impossible to find, however we have since managed to get as much as we want. It is not quite perfect the new stuf. the original looks like it was put through one way then turned around and put through the other. the new stuff goes the same way twice.
Buy as much as you want, how many rolls of black, blue, red, brown, green or white do you need?
Just head down to spot light and check their vinyl. Take some of yours with you and you will see what I mean. (Jade green is called forest)

I find the new stuff shocking. I dont want to put that into my resto. hence why im willing to keep hinting and keep looking. Ive been lucky and got a heap. But still need a bit more. I will find it over time.
The repro stuff as said is nothing like the original grain. I can put some NOS stuff and repro stuff side by side if anyone wants to see the differance. Even the colour of the buckskin repro long grain is wrong compared to the new genuine Nylex stuff.
Cheers Jason.

TK Bedford's used HK type golfball for the hood lining during the 1970's, as late as 1979 in the case of my 'M' series Beddy.

Warren that stuff you are talking about is kitchen chair vinyl ,same emboss as the long grain but not the right grade for car application. If you are looking for dark green HJ i have an NOS GMH roll of the Ribbed Headlining in that colour you are after , and also in the Grey for i think 25th anniversary HQ and also the mid blue in HQ . Rare to find cars in those colours , and hard to find NOS also ! www.monaromuscleparts.com

Jason , i think you will find the Golfball that is coming soon from Ross at Novotex is the good stuff , i have samples here along with NOS and it looks good to me and the thickness is good . The stuff made by another mob which is already out now is the stuff i think you are talking about , and is known to be of poor quality . www.monaromuscleparts.com

Have neutral headlining option.
If it is the wrong quality, as they have the rollers, would it be easy to ask them to run some car quality vinyl?

Not sure , i think Ross at Novotex will be running most of the colours soon anyway ,so give him a call as he is the bloke running the "excellent" quality vinyl unlike others around the place selling a cheaper copy . Ross Novotex (0417)336369 www.monaromuscleparts.com
