That was for sale for a fair while and I think it was sold at the end of last year IIRC.

That car was advertised for $250K originally , thats why it did not sell . Its now in good hands and has an expensive Tar Top Battery in it ! www.monaromuscleparts.com

That is a very different car though, in a totally different league. If $149,000 is the right money for that car, then an LX SS 4.2 auto in identical condition is worth $25k tops. There is only probably three Toranas that come even close to that HT in heritage and that is XU-1, L34 and A9X. _______________________________________________________ If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords? |

In my opinion AMCS is losing any credability it ever had when they price these cars. If you are honestly fair dinkum about selling something be it a house/boat/business or muscle car you should price it to the market. These cars priced at 100k+ stay on the market for far too long and inevitabley they end up selling for far less.If they had only put a realistic price on it in the first place they would have saved heaps of time in selling rather than hold on to their liability. Too many people paid way way too much for their ride and now they are hurting and cant recoup their investment.
If you think car markets don't fluctuate like the housing sector then think again.
If AMCS were selling homes they would never sell one.

as much as i dont really like even talking to the guys there, i'll come to their defence for this issue.when they get a call from someone that wants to sell their car, the fisrt question asked is what sort of money you asking for the car? immediately, most owners of over restored GT Falcons and 350 monaro's say well, its just had major resto and verified by the monaro facts or by allan moffat, its rare, its one of 9.75 built with this color trim combo, 1 genuine owner(the other 7 were criminals mind you)and so i want $750k for my MMP restored and autheniticated HK. they quite often tell the owners of a car that their particular car is just not worth the money they are asking. sure they still list it as after all the are running a business and need to have something to sell. Granted, they have put prices on cars that are just laughable, but sometimes its just like the trading post or unique cars or any other classified, buyer sets the price he wants, simple. but then again i have been in the presence of someone that has advised AMCS of the value of a car over the phone, was nearly enough for me to spil my latte, drop my gelati and choke on my cassata at the same time its when they go on about pedigree that really makes me laugh hhahahhaaa. ahhh, god bless the new wave of guru's around that have never got their hands dirty. my story; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNc45FTenhg

But don't you think AMCS would have a better, shorter sales turn around if they listed vehicles at a realistic price. And I don't mean listing them below what there worth because that would be unfair to the owner.
If a car sits on the market for too long there are a few things that come to mind.
1. There is something wrong with it and or its over priced.
2. The seller does not want to sell.
I just think from a business point of view AMCS could do alot better for themselves. Its not like they have any competition.
What about the guys at Musclecarstables. They don't even put a price up. They say "Best Offer". In this market that is a cracking ploy. Whoever does the marketing for that company is a genius. Ha Ha

Although I have never sold or bought a car through AMCS, I did talk to them about selling one of the GTS327 projects I have. The estimate value was quite the opposite, ie much lower than what I would sell it for. So once again Frank I think I agree with you.
