Intermittent starting problem VT comodore v6

Any one have any ideas just recently sometimes it will start run a little rough then dies, other times runs like a dream and for months on end 6 months since last occurence, has never done it whislt the car is in gear and going only at idle, and sometimes refuses to start and then will start and run fine.Any help appreciated Here are the symptoms
Engine cranks over fine
No pulse at injectors or spark at plug
Fuel presure good
no fault codes evident

No smoke on start up Adam it's fuel injected however I did forget to mention the car is on gas/petrol petrol start up then switches to gas at 1800 rpm. I run in on petrol once a week.

crank angle sensor ?? can cause to just stop and then not start !! common on vn vp etc .
