I flew home tonight and missed the dinner for the list of winners at the Nationals ? Any ideas which cars won in the Survivor, Factory Authentic , and Concours in HK HT HG ? Had many laughs , was great to catch up with many of the Monaro people .

I got Factory Authentic for the HG! Must have been the NOS air i got off you for the tyres!

Concours when to Nick with his HK 186

Survivor went to the 308 HG

BTW i got to meet Noel Bedford as well as Ben Stewart. Both are very humble men.

Time now to hit the crappy QLD and NSW roads for the trip West!

Hi James

Great to see you again!

I just got home after six hours hours crossing the Great Divide to Yamba.

Picked up "Mild Custom" for the old Red HK. A fantastic thrill. I hope people enjoyed this year's Nationals as much as I did!

John
Would have been nice to meet you. Congrats on your award. Enjoy your huge drive.... Ballsy stuff. But your are doing it in a lovely car.

Regards
Nick Moran
Yamba NSW.

And I picked up Second in HK Mild Custom behind Nick.

Sounds like Fastlaners did alright on the day. Congratulations to all.

Also, congratulations to the organizers of the event, it all went off very well, except for the thieving bastards and the rain, neither of which they had any control over.

Hey Nick, congratulations on your win. As we discussed on the day, I was a bit surprised that a car with all the right assembly paint markings, all the right hose clamps, all the right battery terminals etc. etc. would be entered in Mild Custom. This was brought home to me again during the presentations when yourself and Warren Turnbull spoke about Geoff Brown initiating a Factory Authentic approach to restoring a car all those years ago, culminating in the new Geoff Brown Award (which I think is a marvelous idea, top marks for that, Im sure you have put a lot of time & effort into this). I just hope that Geoff is still resting easy, now with the knowledge that his car, which he so lovingly restored along Factory Authentic lines, has become a Mild Custom.

Sorry Mark our meeting was so short , would have loved to have chatted longer . Well done to you also getting your car there also after so many set backs .
I ended up talking to so many people i did not even look at the cars properly , but thats life !
And bloody Nick , gotta smile at the waitresses and you will get your food on time ! (LOL) , but the freebies were worth it in the end !
The local Cafe must have known us Clog Wogs were in town , as the Dutch Poffertjes looked awesome!
Great bowling alley in Warwick also , just ask Nick Gontas from the 300 club !!! (LOL)

Hey James, I know you were busy with judging and catching up with everyone so that's cool. Yeah, I wish I had the time to put more of the original parts back on it but at least it made it... JUST!

Cheers

Bob since 1998 when nicks HK took out the nationals the rules about which class a car is to be entered into has changed and become far more rigid.... nick has a few things to sort out before the Western Australia nationals... i am sure it will be back in factory authentic then...

AL, i thought it was Horhay Steakhouse ? Or is it Staikos ? Sorry George that is not nice i know ! Dont hit me !!!

And The Nasco T shirts are illegal , they are not Rare Spares / Holden Restoration Parts approved , but its for my own use so thats ok !!! So on that note i cant sell you one or give you one Al !!!

Did Nicks shoulder pull up alright after all the bowling over the weekend ? Those shirts he had made up were better than my Nasco one !!!
