Hi Guys,
I am planning on buying an electronic dizzy for my 307 chevy.
Has anyone had any experience with the dizzies offered on Ebay?
Some of them look well made, but are 1/2 the price or cheaper than the branded names.
Another Q - will a HEI (big cap) fit?

Regards - Bill

Avoid the pro comp crap. Their service sucks and God help you if you have a problem which you probably will.

HEI Big cap will fit and in running order are very good ,mine both have the coil inside them, just watch out for the accelarater linkage,do a check before you buy one,but mine have run trouble free for years in a transam, corvette,or fit a big wb statesman/commodore one.they are great to(dont buy as above says) etc.

Google Jegs or Summit Racing in the US and buy an MSD from them, they will post to this country and I received mine within a week. I bought an MSD-8360 and a Blaster 2 coil and they cost me A$460 which included postage & handling. You can import parts up to the value of A$1000 by post duty free, so I went through their catalogue and ordered up because the postage and handling fee stayed the same.

HEI big cap will fit, but sits over the oil pressure transmitter. I had to rotate the dissy to get it to fit past my vacuum tree and a 14" aircleaner is a tight squeeze, but will fit.

the guys at Pro Action Performance always do a sweet job for me

you could get your original dissy rebuilt and install a pertronix kit that way it will look factory too.

Adam that would be the MSD-8362 Streetfire which is made in China.

http://www.msdignition.c...m/showthread.php?p=62853

After checking that dissy out on some US car forums the jury is still out on all Chinese made dissy's.

The dissy in my photo is an ACA 1192 which is also Chinese made. My view now after wasting money on a coil in head HEI is to avoid them and buy something made in the USA or go for ICE.
