I personally did'nt register, merely acting under what I believed to be an incorporated association.
Never set out to take away anything from anyone. Just my past experiences being part of associations have all been positive, and as these cars are my hobby and has been for nearly 25 years I thought why is'nt there an association for enthusiasts like myself?
The topic of a HKTG nationals was something to really get excited about, but after a month the whole thing seemingly dissappeared.
No questions anywhere,no answers anywhere..Where how when??? Why?
Well I don't believe in stealing another persons ideas, nor would I like to mis-represent something I was aware of. On the contrary.
I raised the topic again from a geographical perspective, to find out where people would like to see it held, get their participation back.
Check out the first answer I received on the HKTG extravaganza topic.
He thinks I'm stealing it from him! and others are now under some impression I'm just some corporate gang banger out with vested interests, using an association as a veil for my own company interests?
Probably one of the (many?) mistakes I also made was I thought I'm not going to sit and feather my own topic as it's all about supporting the HKTG nationals in the first place. So I dove into this forum and another and voila! Look at that it's a red hot topic again. Mission accomplished. Unfortunately broke the thread though.
If there is an HKTG association I want to be a part of it. And it should be NFP. And there for it's members. If Davo has hit the wrong button whilst registering, it would merely have been accidental or unknowingly. As we both agreed upon starting a nfp association.
With your knowledge and informative approach, perhaps you can help us?
Oh there is a difference I must point out. One is a club, the other is an event. Should'nt be confused with each other, but one can definetely compliment the other.

Either way, you haven't answered the question directly. OK indirectly you are saying the HKTG ODCA consists entirely of you and Davo. Well sorry but you didn't make this clear, in fact on OldHolden (at least) you have implied that HKTG ODCA is (as I previously stated) a well-established organisation with considerable experience in hosting events related to HKTG. This appears not to be the case. In fact you appear to have no experience at all in hosting an event on this topic or (let's be clear) any other.

As I have implied, to be a Not for Profit you need to meet certain requirements. One of these may be that there needs to be 3 Directors and a Secretary. If this hierarchy has not been established then we may conclude that this is not a case of "hit the wrong button whilst registering", but rather complete ignorance of the requirements of a NFP. I do not suggest this is deliberate or otherwise, however I would suggest that procedures are put in place immediately so as not to compound the situation.

Now, although you may say "Never set out to take away anything from anyone. ", some may interpret your actions differently. You have made suggestions that HKTG Recovery's actions have been fractious and divisive, whereas my interpretation is that he was given no notice of the formation of the HKHTHG ODCA before its inception, despite your assurances that this is a mutual and beneficial NFP association, and in fact any divisiveness may have been instigated by your Association with no foreknowledge or forewarning to HKTG Recovery. In that regard I find your claims disingenuous and possibly misleading.

Further to your points:

"but after a month the whole thing seemingly dissappeared"
The idea was floated and memorialised in this thread on 15/09/10. This does not qualify as "after a month", or "a month", and I find it unfair of you to make this kind of approximation, especially when no deadline was proposed - you seem to be making excuses for your own agenda without considering any of the facts in relation to time.

It is incorrect to assume that "nothing had happened" just because you weren't personally appraised of any and all proceedings, and in fact it is particularly unfair of you to make this claim when you make public statements of "fairness" and "support" when in reality you gave HKTG Recovery no information whatsoever that you were plotting a conflicting agenda.

In actual fact, I had been approached by Simon to canvas any possibilities of entertainment for such an event, due to my close ties to the most influential and successful media and entertainment agencies in this country, and was in consultation to develop an appearance by an appropriate band depending on the location and size of the event.

If you are representing a NFP then you should fully disclose your interests, such as your residential proximity to your preferred location among other factors.

As I have said, I think it is unfair to suggest that Simon dropped the ball while you were making behind-the-scenes machinations to hijack his event under the (apparently unlawful) guise of a NFP association.

the idea was floated first on oldholden back on the 7/09/10. but you knew that seeing you make a reference to the site and the topic
And like you said the club is but days old,
Is he supposed to have been informed of the decision to start a club before it even started?
And then draw a character claim that I'm disingenious and misleading?
also that I make excuses and unfair? have my own agenda, presumptious plotters with conflicting agendas?
"Never set out to take anything away from anyone", can be interpreted differently?
Well at least you informed the people that entertainment was going to be very succesful thanks in part to yourself and the most influential and successful media and entertainment agency in this country.
I'll just keep reading your postings, as I do find them most intriguing and I DON'T mean that in a bad way either.
Cheers :-)

Sorry I dont follow OH that closely - as all the relevant parties are here on FL I would consider that the appropriate date. I dont think anyone considers OH an authority.

First time you have stated it, previous statements were made to look like the club was 32 yrs old (give or take).

I dont know? Is he supposed to be informed? I guess that if you are hijacking someone elses idea then perhaps not. I'm sure that the "committee" didn't inform Caesar just before he got stabbed in the back.

Hey, Im just calling it as I see it. You are saying one thing and appearing as another. I'm sure that others can form their own judgements.

Erik, dont twist my words. I said that I have ties to the most influential agencies, no particular agency. I didnt say that I could get anyone in particular to play at your party. Let's not play with words, given your record so far

Let's give Parts Recovery a bit of time to organise this event it won't happen overnight and if rushed will probably be a failure. Make it right the first time don't rush it, maybe some people on this forum could volunteer to help.

Les

We have certainly back tracked our venture, and are putting the wheels in motion to get things more right with registering the club. We are looking for interested volunteers to help with starting a great association.
Please feel free to contact your club/association on [email protected]
All emails/info will be kept strictly confidential.

Yours sincerely, Erik. (HOLDEN ON!!!)

Greetings. From reading through this the organisers need to disregard any input or suggestions from all contributors starting with a 'w'. Waste of time and a waste of space also begin with the letter 'w'. Simon and Erik should make up and nut out the logistics to what could be a great event. Disregard all the Wowsers and go for it guys.

It is only early stages at the moment. Location would be in Adelaide and would be a two day event. Show n shine day and BBQ cruise day. It will be presented by HKTG Parts Recovery and I will try to get the Monaro Club of SA and the FJ-HZ of SA to support it.

Let me know ideas for categories, judging etc. I'm open to all feedback.

Cheers Simon.
