I'm after a working/running 253 for my HJ. Date code to match March or April 1976.

I have a running 253 to trade/swap if wanted.

M is December I think.

While people are looking at their 253 numbers I need November/December 77 (ideally eng # qr908432) and March/April 72 (ideally eng # QR146410).

Thanks Ant.
Yours is 15th December 1976. I am looking for something dated earlier in the year e.g. xxC6 or xxD6.

Thanks.

5 years too late! I had a few 253's that I threw away before I moved as no-one wanted to pick them up for free. I know one of them was an early 1976 as I pulled it from a HJ myself and it was original to the car. I just chucked the blocks and cranks, and kept the rest. You are going to want an M5 or A6 not much later for a 3/76 or 4/76 car.

OK thanks.

I was looking at a 5-6 week lead time but if you recommend earlier, then my hunt is still on.
My HJ body is a 5/76 build stamp on the ADR.

Thanks.

OK, keep looking for 3rd and early 4th month too. I thought you meant for a 3rd month build date. PM me your VIN or chassis number again and i'll see if I can narrow an engine number down a bit for you (unless you have it already).
