Just asking what is probably a REALLY stupid, simple question, I have bought a twin Stromberg Manifold X2 style thing, and in the spacer plates from Carby to Manifold (facing the passenger guard) there is a small hollow protrusion moulded into the alloy with a barb like fitting on the end, I THINK one of these would be for the vacuum on the dissy, but if that is the case where does the second one go to? could I use this for the vacuum line on the Trimatic? There is a seperate facility on the manifold for the Brake Booster vacuum, but not too sure about these ones. Secondly (have posted ad in parts section) but I need the water inlet thingy's (bolt on bits) off the manifold as well, are they hard to find, are the available repro? Got any to sell? hehe Matt

The vacuum for the distributor has to be taken from above throttle plate so that it has ported vacuum and not full vacuum, the booster and the auto require full vacuum, hope this helps.
if it ain't broke we can improve it.

It's best to run booster off the original fitting at rear of manifold if you get a fitting of a later model auto you can run booster and auto at rear, with the advance try 1 carby at first to see if vacuum signal is enough to give you advance,I think it sh

Hi Matt,
If you don't end up needing those holes, most auto parts shops have rubber blanking caps (they look like a little rubber bullet...) in various sizes for just what you are trying to do.

Hi Guys.
Those spacer plates with the vacuum fitting are not original on the X2 set-up.
These ones were originally available from Repco etc as a way of fitting PCV valves to early cars that didn't have them.
As for the vacuum advance line, the fa |
