I just tried to update this post.
http://www.fastlane.com....PIC_ID=14775&whichpage=1
But it is locked for some reason.
So here is the update.
For those that are interested we now have these SS's on my records.
Adelaide SS's 33
11 I/R 12 L/A 10 U/V
14 series 1's
19 series 2's

Brisbane SS's 26
5 I/R 8 L/A 12 U/V 1?
12 series 1's
14 series 2's

Melbourne SS,s 79
33 I/R 27 L/A 19 U/V
52 series 1's
27 series 2's.

Sydney SS's 62
29 I/R 16 L/A 17 U/V
40 series 1's
22 series 2's

To make these totals
200 cars
78 I/R
63 L/A
58 U/V
1 ?
118 Series 1's
82 Series 2's

Note.
Not all of these cars still exist some are just tag details now.
1 car counted here is not known as to what color it is so it does not show up in the color numbers.
So we are up to the 200 mark now.
Which we will have actually passed if I counted cars that are known to be out there but we do not have details on them.
I do not add these as the same car could end up being counted more than once if there are no details at all to verify it against.
For anyone interested in the HQ SSs we have a photobucket account here
http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn14/HQSS1972/
This now has over 1300 images of SS's, including members cars, road tests from the 70's and all other SS related things that we can find.
We also have a small forum here
http://www.concourseparts.com.au/forum/
If you want to talk to someone about HQ SS's feel free to email me at
[email protected]
Cheers Paul

Saw an UV with black vinyl roof a couple of weeks ago. It was up on a hoist so cannot tell if genuine.

Hi warren.
If it had NSW rego plates with a SS type rego on them it could be this one of Peter's.

See the little "A" on the folder in the tree view at the top of that thread? It means it has been archived - which automatically happens to inactive threads after a period of time.

Thanks for the explanation Mick.

Warren if it was Peter I am sure he would have loved to have a chat with you about his car.

There still seem to be more and more SS's popping up as time goes by so any sightings by
anyone are always appreciated.
Cheers Paul.

I did speak to him, but just general stuff. I looked at it on the hoist, whilst my brother went and got some coke.

He seemed pretty busy so I left it at that. I am sure if i introduced myself he may have talked to me, but I do not go around introducing myself to people so they will talk to me.

Coincdence is I have had a couple of my cars on the same hoist.

Might check it out again next time i visit my brother.

I know what you mean by a sighting every time you go in the garage Cloudy.
When I open the door to leave the house everyday there it is.
But as far as out and about sightings I have seen very few driving around.
Most of my sightings of SS's have been at car shows or more so through the net.
It seems that everyone else seems to see them not myself.
But it is amazing how many people know what a SS is.
I took my car to a local sunday car boot sale a little while ago and 5 people came up and commented on the
fact that it was a SS.
As you know my SS still has not got the stripes and decals on it but they still knew that it was a Lettuce Alone SS.
The fact that they knew what the drive line configuration was as well really surprised me.
No worries Warren.
I have emailed Peter about it as I am curious as to whether it was his car or another SS with a vinyl
roof as well.
Anyway if possible I would like to talk to as many old owners and current owners has I can.
I love to hear the stories they have about there old SS or a mates SS.
There have been some great story's so far.
Cheers Paul.

Warren just to let you know that the SS was Peters SS as suspected.
He was also at the Nats this year but in a GTS not his SS.
Cheers Paul.
