Hi everyone,

I have the chance to take some photo's of a genuine 186 xu1 block coming up - does anyone want me to concentrate on certain areas. I know there is alot of talk of them being stronger/thicker/more reinforced etc in certain spots.

Let me know and i will do my best.

A photo of the engine number and cast date would be good. Is it a 186X, 3100X, CK, 3100N or NK engine number? The block should be the same as normal 186 block except for the engine number.

I'm not sure if a can take a photo of the engine number as it's not mine and i don't know the customer for permission but it's definately a 3100 number not sure if it was an X or N though i will check. As far as the date code no worries. I did notice a couple of differences mainly in the bellhousing area of the block - this one has more support kind of like a 202 block as compared to another 186 i had to compare it to. I will get some photo's up soon that will explain it better.

Maybe cover the last 2 digits. I just wanted a reference stamping for a genuine LC XU-1 engine.
