My husband has an EH holden, unrenovated and in a shed in the country at this point. I thought I might get him some new tyres for Christmas, as the car needs 'everything'. I have no idea what i need to buy. He will be renovating the car just for personal use, not to show. This is just a low key hobby. So...what to buy, where to buy, how much to spend? Help!

See if you can get a gift certificate from a tyre shop. Tyres could be hard to buy for a present I think. Lots of variables. Nice thought I reckon though!

Your title is unhelpful. How about being more descriptive, eg Which tyres for stock EH?
If the car is laid up and waiting on a restoration, tyres are the last thing he will want. Tyres age and perish, and will lose their shape if sat in the one spot for extended periods. Buy him something that is not going to disintegrate by the time the car is ready to roll.

Thanks everyone. I see your point about the tyres perishing.

Get him a membership to an EJ-EH car club? If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/ |

Get someone in the know to check out what tools he already has and get them to suggest a few that he might need. Having the right tools when doing a resto is worth more than any part on the car.
