Looking at buying a 2002 V2 series I Monaro. Low kM car, but rims are all gutter scratched. Anyone know of any for sale? Will consider V2 series II or III or CV8R also. Must be genuine Holden rims though.

Holden had a parts mag out recently with all the wheels for sale, they had the series II/III and VZ wheels as well as CV8R.

Also try your local HBD as they sell the "original" wheels and tyres as second hand when someone gets new wheels.

Good point Warren. I bought a "second hand" replacement mag for my VY2 SS ute from the local Holden Dealer for $230 instead of the $400 they wanted for a new one. The rim had only been on the car from the factory to the dealer.

They want $770 for the V2 series 1 rims. Same rims (but different colour) as a VT R8 clubsport.

Keep an eye on ebay. All sorts of late model Commodore/Monaro rims appear on there and the prices usually aren't that bad.

I can just imagine what it will be like in 30 years when everyone is trying to get back those original wheels they sold so they

Imagine restoring one of the mongrel things though in 2035! I'd say it would be virtually impossible, unless everything is there. ABS, SRS, airbags, climate air, electric seats etc etc. Yuk! At least they shouldn't be as badly rust affected as a H series

What sort of condition would a 30 year old air bag be in?

I can just imagine a collision and all you get is a face full of dust. lol
