Yes they sure are , they use different tinters , the HT being the nicer one that really glows best when in the sun due to all the metallic tinters highlighting it . The HG Verdoro green is much more dead looking and definitely not as nice as the HT one . Verdoro Green in HG has always been pretty Rare compared to HT that i have ever seen anyway. www.monaromuscleparts.com

I reckon paint it the better shade of green. Not many people would notice if you didnt tell them. You will enjoy the nice colour more than the rareness of the not so nice colour.

My Dads LC GTR is original Verdoro Green and its different again to Monaros, there is another in Sydney, same car but he painted his in Monaro colour a bit different side by side
Would this not be a Monaro / Torana thing just the different shades both cars are 1969 Im sure, ours is for sure
Thanks HZ

Trim and Paint as per its year of build are the same , so its early Verdoro Green Mid 69 to mid 70 (11905) and Later Verdoro Green mid 70 onwards (13141) . Many people use a different brand of paint than the original . The original company who supplied the paint hold the correct formula in the case of Holden it was Dulux (Now PPG), if you go to say Glasurit they may mix a copy of a copy and you end up with many versions. Plus who ever mixed it make be shaky and add it bit to much if this or that . Indy Orange and Warwick Yellow have just about 20 shades i have seen over the years !!! Where you will be getting confused it that LC went from 1969 to the end of 1971, so LC technically copped both versions of Verdoro Green if helps answer your question ? Or if you say the are both 1969 cars someone has mixed one of the wrong i would say? Bit like LC Toranas Got Trim Code 40Z which is Sebring Orange Houndstooth and Black Vinyl (HT era ) , but also also Trim Code 40L which is Indy Orange Housndtooth and Black Vinyl (HG era ). They had to use a different version of their Trim coding system as LC incorporated trim and Paint colours that spanned 2 years /2 models and in this case 40Z (Z = coloured houndstooth normally ) had already been used , making it a bit confusing for us to work out 40 years later ! . What i mean is when Holden changed stuff for the big cars they would have changed it across the board if that makes sense in paint and trim as per build date . cheers James www.monaromuscleparts.comEdited by user Saturday, 8 January 2011 7:43:27 PM(UTC)
