complete, factory GTS, matching No's, minimal rust needing full resto, you'll be lucky to pay less than $15K...

Buy a whole car, cheaper in the end!

I am looking for a complete car, I thought I'd be looking around 15k to 20k, but I ve seen some as much as 35k, just trying to work out what a fair price would be.

a complete 4 door needing resto... 10-15K

a complete coupe same condition... at least $15k

it may seem in many circles that these figures are over priced... maybe so... but you wont buy a decent starting point for less...

there arent many people prepared to spend $100k on a car these days so the buying pool is small... but there are far more people looking for the entry level monaro at about 10 - 20k hence the seemingly inflated price

best of luck

Al

I meant a complete finished car, not a resto project.

i agree, buy one done.
an aquamarine HQ GTS 253 t/ber coupe needing resto sold for mid teens just the other day, $15k to be exact, was all there and a really good restorer, still a driver.
spend $50k in it, it owes $65k, buy gregs 350 coupe for that, no hassle and a better car without having to deal with expert restorers and tradesman that think they are chip foose.
rest my case, buy smarter, always better in the long run

Yep,in this case,a "coupe" buy a complete car as you would be shocked at what the little "coupe" bits go for
and availability pushes a price competition ...buy complete for coupes ,4 doors not so much(hq parts)...my opinion only.

I agree Greg's GTS350 would be a good one to have if Relic can afford that, but that isn't exactly the path I was suggesting. I meant more like one of these:

You'll have to cut and paste this link as is into expolorer:

Hey Frank this aquamarine car was it factory air and steer too? If so I know the one you mean and was half tempted to buy it myself. Anyhow its not a genuine GTS but this car might be worth looking at Relic. http://oldholden.com/node/90499

I don't know what state you are living in Relic but I live in Brisbane and could be interested in selling my fully restored HQ GTS Coupe . This is a Tangerine car featuring a black interior with black and white houndstooth inserts. It runs a fully reconditioned 253 with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carby. It runs a Trimatic and a 3.08 lsd diff.It rides on stock GTS rims with as new tyres. The car has done very few kilometers since getting back on the road in August 2010 after a 4 and a half year restoration .Interior is new fishscale dash and console with hidden CD player with remote. Doortrims, carpet and hoodlining are all brand new .It runs a brand new extra large radiator as it was my intention to tow a van across the Nullabour but this won't now happen . Last week I fitted a brand new starter motor as the other one was one of the few things which wasn't new or reconditioned . I am asking $ 45,000 for the car with QLD plates 000-0HQ but will be negotiable without the plates . Reason for sale is that I have just bought a Cosmo Series 111 CV8 with a towbar and airconditioning to do my Nullabour trip and I now need money for the petrol .I can be contacted on 04 300 66 200 and leave a message.
