Does anyone know if any of the american GM cars used the same power steering box and pump?? If so, what models and what years??

Hi

I think you will find that all the American GM car's power steering units are designed to mount on the left of the motor.

You can fit them but you have to extend the hoses and move the alternator. I know that I had to do this for the 253-350 co

Hi KiwiHQ.

The P/St pumps that Holden use are US Saginaw, similar to American GM cars, with small modifications to suit different engines (6 cyl, V8 etc). The P/St boxes they use are totally different as they mount on the inside of the LH chassis rail.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I've got power steering on both my HQ Statesman and Camaro, both running 350 Chev factory fitted engines. Both power steering pumps are identical saginaw units. I guess that is to be expected as both cars are Chev powered. Not sure if Holden V8's used th
