Anyone know where I can get a set of 14 or 15" mags?
Order of preference in styles is:
1) Torque Thrust
2) Hotwire
3) Minilite (Soniclite?)

I have a '71 South African Chev SS which I'm told is the same as the HG Monaro. It has 14" steel wheels.

The HG is apparently 5 stud, 4 1/4" (108mm) PCD with an offset of 30mm.
Is this correct?

If I go 14", what width and offset are recommended?
If I go 15", what width and offset are recommended?

Any advice appreciated...

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
I had 8" hotwires on my HT (14's) and found that they rubbed with tyres bigger than 225. It was lowered 2".
Standard height was ok around town, but the highways being as "good" as they are saw some rubbing if the lip wasnt rolled.
I dont't suppose you would like to go that way with the SS, so put the 225's on a 7" rim, that is working fine on a lowered HG. 15's in hotwires (anything really) are VERY hard to find, and one set went for over $1000 on ebay recently.
Look for Volvo wheels or ferrari..... yup

Hot wires do look good in my oppinion on this model..... but that's my taste

I fitted Girlock alloy front calipers & rotors from a HZ onto my HK. Then had the axles re-drilled to suit the HQ pattern.
Pretty simple stuff really.
That way i could use HQ mags, which were plentyfull at the time.
