I gotta ask, why? I've never seen a badly rusted one on even a rusty car. Also very hard to damage badly even in a major hit.

Concur.
A quick walk down the back tells me I'll never need to buy a new one, I have more than enough raw material for my use, and I'm pretty sure i'm not robinson crusoe (alone) on that one.

Imagine the effort required to unpick one off a car?

How far away are the shells now I wonder?

aren't the body/id numbers stamped on the firewall? may make it easier to restamp without removing the old number?

just throwing a conspiracy theory out there, lol

mmm i wonder if it's anything to do with new shells?

That would be about it. They're all getting made anyway for the new shells, May as well make a bit more from the guys who don't want to spend the full amount on a shell and/or have something other than a coupe.

When I restored my 327, the firewall has a bit butchered from a dodgy air con install. We patched it OK, but it never looked perfect. At the time I wondered if I could replace the whole firewall. Cos now when you stick your head up under the dash you can see the crappy repair job.

So in this case, one would have been handy.

as said they are making the whole shell, so need the panel anyway as eldelbrock said one would be handy im not sure on transfering the number over without raising eyebrows? what im interested in seeing is how the repo panels fit original body,s i.e quarter panels, roofs, guards etc.
they reckon the rear beaver panel is a good fit????, really if they do not sell a heap of bodys i reckon the panels would sell well.
Think about it a good panel beater is $60 an hour or more if you can find one, so that rusted out, smashed up front guard or rear beaver soon turns into $1000 panel, bring em on i say..
