I am looking to purchase a 1996 Ford Mondeo to get me to work (yes i know I will have to drive in disguise so no one knows I am in a Ford) but there is a problem with the car. When yor first drive it for the day after a short while it will sort of cough and splutter. You turn the ignition off and then re start the car and she is fine. Any idea what might be causing that? I was thinking some sort of sensor but which one? Thanks for your help.

Personally, I'd look at a more common car, with more readily available parts. This Mondeo is 15 years old now, and was expensive & difficult to get parts for when near new. It can only get worse.
Cheers,

Mick

Those things were pretty horrible when new. 15 years old won't help. If you must go Ford, get a Laser. Ideally get a Corolla.
I'd be suprised if wreckers even bothered holding onto Mondeo's that age. I'm guessing SIMS would be the main stockists of Mondeo parts these days. Not that those parts are much good when they're shredded and recycled into Kia's.
