Hi guys
i have owned a hq 4door for some time now and bought it as a genuine gts sedan. The car was owned not far from me and i used to see it driving around and parked in the peoples propety that owned it. Back then it was the original colour the tags specify. Long story short i saw it being prepared for paint over some time while it was still being used, eventually i bought the car sometime after it was repainted so i know the colour wont match the plate.
Can anyone tell me from these plate numbers whether or not it is a genuine gts as someone that is interested in buying it is saying its not a gts and was a 173 motored car from factory. I know in my mind it is a gts but they wont believe me.
Model HQ80469 which i believe is a factory v8 car
Body 11xxx-a
trim 1875-39x I wa led to believe only came out in gts vehicles
paint 568-15825
eng trans m20 axle
Can anyone please verify if i am right or wrong with this car. Did i buy a 6 cylinder and get ripped of or am i right in beleiving this car is a genuine gts 4 door sedan.

model number HQ80469 is either V8 kingswood or 4 door monaro
but the trim code 39X was unique to monaro's only
so it is a monaro

As above. All HQ GTS 4 doors were optioned V8 Kingswoods, either option XV4 for GTS or XW8 for GTS 350. Don't stress, this is normal for many sports oriented Holdens. XU-1, L34, A9X and Sandman are no different. |

Thanks for the reply's fella's. I was 100% sure this car is a gts but thought i would confirm with people that seem to be highly knowlegeable on the subject. I dont realy wont to sell it but circumstances make me put the 4 door and a few other toys for sale.

Trim xxxx-30X is a GTS Monaro 4 door. The 80469 say's it's a V8 and 30X say's it's a GTS Monaro.

I reckon that's where the potential buyer is getting mixed up. Because it's blank on the engine bit he assumes it has the lowest capacity engine available in any HQ. He obviously doesn't realise that it has the lowest capacity for that model (V8 Kingswood) Make sure you put up a For Sale thread with good pictures and info.
