G'day All,
Have a mate with a XH Panelvan with a standard but VERY tired original motor, and he is looking to rectify that plus add a wee bit of performance. I'm not up with these motors and who would work on them so if anyone could point me in the right direction in the Melbourne area that would be great.
I've suggested to get his motor rebuilt so as to avoid engine number changeover issues, but to rebuild it to XR6 specs for that model or even later. However I'm unsure about compatibility with his standard computer/efi set-up when going to a power upgrade plus I have no idea what his standard box and diff are capable of taking power-wise. Any ideas/advice woul;d be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Al

for a mild to even good performance naturally aspirated upgrade the driveline is good enough, people use those diffs for conversioins for older v8 cars, i have one myself and its never let me down

the t5's are ok, behind an EF making 170rwkw NA iv seen one last for a few years, the autos with a good shift kit are good also

i dont know much about the ecu's but the xr ecu in my mates ef didnt have any issues at all with the 170rwkw
