hey guys i was wondering if u counld give me a few pointers as how to draw more power out of my stock standard 186 as in nsw we p'platers are not allowed to have forced induction turbos or supercharges in our cars soo i was wondering if you could give me pointers

if you could pic up a good yella terra head, holley, good manifold, extractors and stuff like that your starting off good!

Like any motors a lot of horsepower can be added but it will take a fairly big pile of cash to get noticeable difference.

Hey Damien, ive just built up a 179HP (essentially a 186 without as big a bore - but mine's 186cu now...), best pointers i can give are these:

350 Holley and K&N Filter
Pacemaker headers
Electronic Ignition (off a blue 202 from commodore)
Better coi

For a P-plater this is what I'd do. It will give you a good driveable car with excellent torque:

Red 202 block with rope rear main seal;
Blue crank and rods (new rod bolts);
Red head with inlet posts removed and slightly larger inlet valves

At what point would he/Any one start the Duel system from?
I understand this would help in Torque, And likely shifting The Power band.
But As he'll be using a Three-into-Two-into one Collector, Is this Mod made with the Last Collector Cut off,

The reason for dismissing the blue head was if you run anything other than triple twin chokes there is little point, at least on a 'street' engine.

The dual system should start at the X2/GTR/186S/XU-1 exhaust manifolds. These are two piece, three cylin

Yep So a set of old six cyl Tri-Ys will do the trick then, While cutting off the last collector and running the Tubing from the two Secondderies left. (2 of, 3 primaries leading into the first two separate Collectors)

I wouldn't touch extractors - leave them as they are, although you would probably gain the same benefit by following the same process, so you are effectively 'tuning' the pipe lengths to the engine. I was talking about cast iron GTR exhaust headers. Holde
