Sorry for the lousy thread description, i figured at least the title may attract the curious and/or knowledgable though you might have to use your imagination to understand what im on about in the thread lol. Anyway, Im thinking of removing altogether/modifying the front bumper of a HJ on a single headlight nosecone and somehow making a larger grill to fill in the opening that the bumper usually covers. Maybe with "bumperettes" under the headlight area and nothing in the grill portion (except for grill of course) Anyway, will it look crap? Edited by user Thursday, 5 May 2011 1:28:23 AM(UTC)

This was a very common mod back in the panel van craze (late 70s, mid 80s).
I personally think that it makes the front look too heavy & fat, but if that's the look you want, go for it. It is your car after all.

i cant get the link to work Bruvpig, I was quite curious to see how it looked lol. Doc, not so much a "look" im chasing, its more airflow for the 3" thick radiator core with a 4" thick aftercooler stuck in front of it. Im really just tyre kicking, i dont know how it will look but i was sure id seen it done before and just couldnt remember. the 300c has a nice front, but its a fair bit more "boxy" in proportion than a kingswood so it can probably pull off the "look" The extra grill may not even be needed as far as airflow/cooling is concerned but if it was raining nymphos id get washed down the drain with a bloke so im expecting drama's lol. Thanks bruv! I figured i may as well post it here so i can see it rather than having to go to PB each time. If the bottom right and left corners of the grill were rounded (i guess like the statesman grill) it "probably" wouldnt look too bad.  Edited by user Thursday, 5 May 2011 4:36:26 AM(UTC)

hey Bruv, try it with this pic of my car!  with thanks to Bruv!  heres what i was thinking, using the existing opening in the nose cone and this hopefully takes some of the "harshness" from the extended grill. Best way to utilise the skills i have might well be to just take the bumper off when i go racing to let the airflow through lol.
