Does anybody know much about the existence of this car. I seem to remember a kerfuffle regarding this car about a year ago on the oldholden site.

Ok must need to be logged in.

Heres a copy/paste.

Ok guys,

I will write here so all can see in regard to this so called number 2 prototype and the reasons I do not want this car discussed on the site.

Firstly I knew about this car in 2009 and was going to see the car when Peter, Damons dad bought it, then Damon rang me and said no don't come up. Then a few days later he was saying that fxfjholden.com had seen the car and authenticated it.

My friend the author Don Loffler was flying over to Melbourne to see it at his expense then the Donnelys called him and said please don't come. Then again he started saying Don Loffler had authenticated it again sight unseen.

I mentioned on the FB site that I was unhappy that he was stating that I had authenticated the car, then Damon Donnely called me and abused me about it and threatened me with legal action.

I am also privy to information that this is not the first scam they have tried to do. They tried to claim a EK prototype.

As I am originally from Morwell in Victoria, where Des Kelly had owned the original number 1 prototype which I did see back in 1991 which he later sold onto the Strongmans, I have seen documentation of that car. This car that the Donnelys are passing on as the number 2 was bought from a deceased auction only 50kms from Morwell in Drouin, which again was strange.

What the article doesn't tell you is that they also claimed that they had number 5 early on, but we again proved that, that car was destroyed.

I believe that he has actually got some prototype parts to the number 2, but the car is not the number 2. Another forum member at the time, pointed me into the direction of a grey 1950 sedan that the Donnelys bought about 2 years ago off eBay from his friend.

The ID tag that he has placed on the age site is different to the number 1 prototype.

His article in the age is so different to the story he has been saying, it trys to paint the picture that he has found it in hid dads stuff. This is not the first time, he has offered it for sale. The car was at the Holden Museum in Echuca and was removed when the Holden Museum did some research and realised that it was a 1951 Holden. A point you also don't see in the main article.

Have a look here http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... 15&t=10040 re the conversation when it was on the FB site. The owner of the car username JP481 has removed his posts from the discussion when it was discussed and he did not like the answers.

He even claims the plates are original plates. They are the correct rego for the car, but reproduced plates. My stock FJ sedan has the original vic plates on the and they are different. I have seen original 2 letter Victorian FX plates, and the lettering is different. Again the guy doesnt like to be wrong.

Basically I don't want a discussion on this car, where it can be searched on the net, as I don't want a legal s*** fight with this guy.

Things are not always what they seem, remember this guy is also responsibile for some shady ebay dealings from all those parts he bought from that deceased estate.

In the article he says the car has been authenticated, If I was trying to sell this car (and its the reason for the spread in the paper) I would at least verify who it was authenticated by as it would at least add some credibility to the story and assist in obtaining the price asked. If you read the story in the FB site where he has responded, he argues that members from Victoria that viewed the car doubted its authenticity, so he started to defame those members.

I hope that you can understand the reasons behind the decision not to talk about this car.

The only reason this is now been discussed is he is trying to sell the FX Holden, and no its not a new find.

Jason

Well it would seem that from this and the other posts that I have viewed Before they were pulled by the owner, that there is something amiss... far too quick to sledge, and then run away to hide.

The phrase put up or shut up comes to mind

I would certainly not be buying anything from a seller that behaved in the all too inconsistant way that has been shown on the various user groups, regardless of price, and especially something that was a rare find.

BTW did I tell you that I have the only original big block HK monaro .. I have the proof, but im not telling you!!!!

The plot thickens, The car would have to bee seen and compared to the number1 car considering they should be identical pretty much. I would not pay that much money to find it was a fake imagine the lawsuit.

Not that I am implying that it is or is not hand built at this stage. I would only state facts if I could look at it. I could not personally prove if it is or is not No.2, however I could comment on what components are hand built.

I think the main problem with this car is he won't let anyone near it that could say it is what it is at all, it works against him really, if it's genuine then what's the problem?

personally if it was mine id want everyone to look at it and remove all doubt before asking $1.2 MILLION for it!!
