Hi all, Finally got a one tonner for work, 308,straight gas, Turbo 400 and 9" LSD. Now the tricky bit! I've got the tipper kit to convert it to a tipper but the gas tank is fitted to the tray at the rear, so it needs to be moved to the standard spot of where the fuel tank used to be (drivers side, behind cab) and will need to get the approved tank attach brackets for this. Or, can you get a flex line fitted from the tank to a fixed union on the chassis with obviously enough travel to allow for the tray tilt angle... Help is needed !! Cheers Rodders

Have you measured the tank to see if it will fit in there first. Can't say Ive ever seen one with the tank in that position, and after playing with the fuel tank in the van the other day it looks as though you would need a pretty short tank to be able to squeeze it in there.

Here's someone wrecking a tonner with a triple tank LPG system. I guess it would probably have one at the back and one each side.

Hi, the tank will fit according to the workshop I went to. I also asked the seller about the triple tank thingo and it was from an EF Falcon, not the tonner... Rod

You can get flexible LPG rated hose. Not sure of the part number, but Enzed can get their hands on it. It has a braided cloth cover, like the old kettle cables used to have (with the white spots every now & then amongst the black threads). You'll need to have the right flare fittings crimped on by them, and have the assembly tested, before it's legal. I'm running this between the body & the motor on my Brock (convertor is mounted right behind the mixer). |
Cheers,

If you get stuck, I should be able to get you a part number with a bit of effort. |
Cheers,
