Gday

I'm after some opinions,I have a matching number XB Coupe that I have had repainted and during this restoration they have lost my compliance tags, My question is what effect does this have on the car in regards to its value and authenticity.

How much more difficult is registration?

Will the car be harder to sell without tags, and if it does lower its value how do you put a price on that?

Any help much appreciated..

This car is a NSW car and I have been its owner for over 20 years paint work is not as per factory colour

ford keep good records, so it wouldn't drop as much as a holden of the same era. I would be going around there with a baseball bat and asking them to have another look for those tags.
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid.

Hey mate, I have a genuine XC Cobra with no compliance plates too!
They are only a bit of tin, so I would not worry about them too much, But it is pretty disappointing that someone else lost them on you like that. If your car is legit, you will have no probs with rego, as for value, who cares, it is a coupe. Just enjoy the car.

That's a bit of a mongrel. those guys should never have lost the tags as the tags should never have been removed. It's actually illegal to remove the tags though with the right pop rivet who's going to know? You've still got the shocky tower numbers which will help as long as you still have the original motor in the car. If you don't have a matching numbers motor and you have no tags it will make buyers nervous. It will devalue your car but as to how much depends on what the car is. I'd be paying a visit back to the bright boys who lost those tags and telling them to find them.
