I have done a couple of these, first: Set wheels at straight ahead Pull the air bag fuse Undo the air bag from behind with security screws Unplug airbag and place in safe place upright Undo the nut on steering wheel The ones I have done the wheel now just comes off, if it does not you MUST use a steering wheel puller, DO NOT hit shaft with anything.
When re fitting read instructions on clock spring, you must see the green dot in the window. It shouldbe visible if you starter with the whels in the straight ahead position. If not you will destroy the clock spring when you turn the wheel.
Reverse the above procedure to re fit.

Aye aye aye no no no. The air bags in cars should not be touched by anyone who has not been trained to do so. Only a fool or an idiot would follow these dangerous instructions. There are specialist people at dealers to do this work. God knows what is going to happen if the air bag did not deploy when it should have and somebody was injured. This is just crazy and the post should be deleted. |
look out, the guru is coming through... |
