Thanks

Errr... if I remember correctly the boot lock is different, every set came with 2 different keys, one for the boot and the other for everything else.

You might find it was 1 key fits all as Dr Terry has just said but you don't really need a key for the ignition anyway unless you want to lock the ignition. In the country town where I came from none of the Holdens owners had car keys...Jack

On Page 9 of the HK Holden Owner Manual (Part Number 7438263) it states "A single key is common to all locks on your new Holden". On my reading of the manual (which is often casually referred to as the Owner's Manual or glovebox handbook, the only exception was the optional Locking Petrol Cap. The Manual indicates that this was a separate and different key.

So as usual, the Doc rules.

Yes, HK, HT & HG had one key fits all, except for accessories like locking fuel cap & gear lever lock etc.

HQ & HJ had the 'valet' system where the doors & ignition were keyed alike, while the boot & glovebox had different key. Holden changed back to a one key system for HX.

Piss off mr bob, don't need your smart arse comments. I was only asking because I wasn't sure. Rare spares lock kits have one key for ignition and a different key for rest of locks.

There does seem to be some really knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum, and a few (maybe one or two) who think they know everything and get a bit pushy. I'm here to gleen info off the smart and helpful ones and maybe contribute if I can. So HK350, I'm glad your simple questions received some straight answers.

What was that saying? Ah that's right it's best to keep your mouth shut and let people think your an idiot, than open it and confirm it.

People, me included. use these forums to gain knowledge and assistance and don't need the smart comments. Mate I have a ignition/door/glovebox lock from a HG sedan all keyed alike. Boot is different but unsure if original lock or not (although rest of car is origianl including the rust). Fuel cap is different lock again. I am wrecking the car so if interested in lock/s shoot me a pm or email sebdom at bigpond dot com. Cheers.

Good for you bob the knob.

Because I'm a bit slow and have had HK's for the past 33 years I'll take your word and go out and get my boot locks rekeyed to match the rest.

hey knobjockey, you're the one who came out with the Errrrr, I was just repeating it. Thats great, you go out and get your locks rekeyed. They are just a GM sidebar lock, piece of piss to rekey. How long you've had a hk makes no difference to me.

Look you tool, you're the one who started the name calling. As far as retards go, your grammar pretty well lets the cat out of the bag on that one. "your" a ****er? A 10 year old knows the difference between your and you're. Retards don't. Nor do you. Join the dots.
