Very expensive for the location. Busselton is a hole, there's nothing there.

be a good idea if someone ran a spell check over their website for them

"SCRUITINEERING" = scrutineering
"Geographe Bay Leiusure Centre" = leisure

and

"The Monaro Nationals is an event which is held every second year to attract "Monaro's" from all over Australia and bring them together."

It's Monaros not Monaro's

yeah well you're not running an event and a website bullit, so who cares. the Monaro WA club is coming across as very unprofessional on that website. They've also got a link to Perry's site which is dead and probably has been for yesrs. monaro.com.au Is Perry still in charge there?

i have heard 5 families have pulled the pin and so my family will be the 6th and the pricing has only been released today....its very dissapointing as i have taken my family and hk to the last 3 and its the entrants that make the event without the cars you have no event...

Put it this way bullit, if you head south from Perth you go to Margaret River/Yallingup for the surf and fishing and wineries. On the way you go AROUND Bunbury and PAST the Busselton turnoff

Maybe 65ehpv can answer why the Nationals has been turned into a " Gold cash cow Class" event

"Time to move forward with this event. It is no longer a bunch of guys with their cars rolling upi to a footy oval and opening the bonnet. It's now a big event with some serious dollar cars involved.

Entrants are now also younger plus there is an increase in families attending.

Sitting in a tent in watching some old holden movies, eating dinner of plastic plates, doesn't cut it any more.

The event can and should become more conference like in appearance and organisation.

FYI I'll be at next weekends' Monaro Nationals and am planning to have a good look how this one is run, as the last one in Ballarat was not good. The infighting between club members weeks before the event didn't help things.

I know that the WA Monaro club has pre raised 50K for their bid in 2012.

The difference between the EH ASR and Monaro Nationals model is that the latter has to raise their own seed funds, where the former gets the profit from the previous club.

Following the Monaro model, the host club can make quite a bit of money from staging the vent, therefore there is an expectation that the entire weekend is Gold Class.

So in conclusion, a great topic"

Wonder what the WA Monao Club think about this or is 65 ehpv on their committee. ? $50,000 big ones already and they looking to make more

anonymous in fairness to 65ehpv i will wait for his input he may have nothing to do with it.... but it doesnt matter w.a can no way justify the prices....people are pulling out as we type so we will wait and see what the numbers are hey....

i hope the 50k sponsorship you mention is not true as that would make this whole pricing thing even worse....also the auction for the entrant numbers relating to engine size thats fine as the other states have done that but i think they may struggle to even get to 161 did monaros come with a 138 lol....

They should have a badge-fitting competition. Everyone draws a badge then runs 100m to the car and tries to fit the badge. If it doesn't fit they run back and grab a cordless drill. First one to fit the badge without bending it like butter wins the prize
