Gday all it's my first post and need some advice from you guy's.
I am looking at buying a 1956 FJ 217 that is for sale. It has only had 2 owners is road worthy and has rego. Owner has put in new brakes, tyres and water pump and starts and runs well. Some surface rust but no real major holes.
Asking price is $5500.
What do you guy's think of the price??. I will be able to upload pics tomorrow as I am going for a better look and maybe a drive!!!
Any advice will be great.
Cheers Leigh |

Personally I think the price is great. An FJ with rego and it sounds like it may not need much work. And it's a 217. Pretty rare. Make sure you check it out properly though. With 2 owners you may get some good history of the car also.
Colin.

I love the hand rails in the back. The FJ is very dirty and needs a clean but should scrub up alright!. The old girl was ticking over as I was taking pics. Also the old number plates are there. Are those rare or?
Is $5500 a good price for the 217
Cheers again Leigh |

Im a tradie and was doing some work on the guys house and saw this FJ in the shed. We got talking and I realized that I saw this FJ 12 years a go in a shed for a guy who I was working for. I asked him if he wanted to sell it "no" lol. Fast forward 12 years same car same question different guy this time "yes".
First owner only lives 40ks away and the current owner lives about 3ks away so its a local car since new.
The reason the first owner sold it is he wanted the shed space for hes new tractor and was going to put it out side under a gum tree.

That's the way all 48-HR Holdens left the factory, except for '54 onwards Specials, which had locks both sides. Dr Terry |

He who hesitates is lost, grab the old number plate too, you might be able to get it back on the car with the paperwork you'll have.

Business sedans are ultra rare, I've only ever seen less than a dozen in total & that includes all series (48, FJ, FE & FC).
