I was at a car show today and got the id details from an immaculate 10/73 Premier wagon which was an Adel body assembled in Melb.
When did Melb cease building wagon bodies? When was the last coupe produced? The last passenger car I have recorded is J421549 which is 3/74, and around the start of LH production.

Could it have been one of those one offs? The odd other State assembled body does turn up from time to time. There was a HK GTS on Ebay a few weeks back with a Pagewood assembled Elizabeth body. |

FYI
Of the 200 Melb produced coupes I have recorded the latest is Nov 73. You? Co-insedently I wrecked a Mar 74 HQ belmont sedan J421349 and still have the broardcast sheet issued 01Mar74. I have also seen P/Vans produced in Melb with cowls stamped in Adel.

Are those vans HQ or HJ? Do you have ID recorded off any Dandenong HQ vans? I've been looking for a long time to find out if Dandenong HQ vans were Elizabeth bodies or Dandenong bodies. I have all the rest sorted. |

The Pick's I have of one of the vans ID's are not as clear as I had hoped but are as follows: 1-73 DHQ09881M 8M70RCJ362884Q (Photo Not Clear)
Stamped Plate as follows: 80270 621-A 1822-21A 568-13135
Cowl Stamp: 42495A
This was a 253 auto, one owner Builders Windowless van unrestored in Lone Oranger Orange. This is what made me stop and grab the details at the time. The van has been since restored. Have since seen another van with details the same.

8N35RDJ4110560
Model HQ80435 Body 96236-A Trim 1821 35E Paint 568-13134
No Typical Adelade body stamp in cowl or fire wall, the car is in original paint, so not bogged over & car was a customer order, no idea if that affected the body shop? anything else just ask. |

Hi Kevin. It looks like by the 12th 0f 73 Adelaide no longer stamped the cowl panel body numbers. It seems to have stopped around the end of May beginning of June. Cheers Paul.
