So I guess that is my ticket to go back in February.

Happy days!

hq sandman you must have an understanding mrs, i talk about swaps in the bedroom and end up camping with the dog

I sure do have an understanding wife.

She lets me do just about anything I want.

Hi,

My name is Andrew Rowan and I am on the organising committee for the Ballarat Swap Meet which is being taken on by the Rotary Clubs of Ballarat. I have looking at a few motor enthusiasts forums and wanted to contact you to dispel a few incorrect comments and to set the record straight if I may.

1. The Meet will be held over the weekend of the 25th & 26th February 2012. Friday will be a set up day.
2. The Meet will be at the same site (Ballarat Airport), using the same setup map as 2011.
3. We intend to run the Meet as it always was, that is an Auto/Motorcycle Swap Meet and NOT a Trash and Treasure Market.
4. We can deliver the event in the time frame because Rotary can draw on over 400 Rotarians (majority of whom have business/management experience), and are dedicated to the ongoing success of this event. The time frame whilst tight is not an issue to us.
5. All profits from the Meet will go to Charity. Rotary is a 100% volunteer, charitable organisation.
6. Many members of the organising committee are car enthusiasts themselves and have been involved in other Swap Meets etc.
7. We have asked the Federation of Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Clubs Inc. to be a consulting partner. They will not profit from the event. A good friend of mine is the Treasurer and I asked him for his input because they run the Bendigo Swap Meet. They are happy to do this.
8. We will be retaining those groups who were previously involved, such as the Morris Minor Club who ran parts collection.
9. And finally contrary to popular belief we are not a bunch of old men with nothing better to do. Some of our membership are in their 20s and we are a very diverse group (just though Id throw that one in).
10. Finally, if anyone has any constructive comments on how this Meet could be run better, send us an email. We will listen to and consider all suggestions.

Contact details for the Swap are;

0487 175 996
0487 175 997

Email [email protected]

A website should be up next week with additional details and online booking forms.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself.

Hope you members can make it.

Regards
