Gday guys
Have a HQ GTS when bought it had what we think was the original engine a 253. We replaced it with a 308.
Good news (we hope) we still have the engine tucked away. My question which im sure someone here can answer is what numbers do you need to verify that this was the original block from factory..the engine number starts with QR2.....what other number do you need to marry these up?
Thanks
Paul

QR is HQ-J-X Red 253.
QT is HQ-J-X Red 308.

Check with Holden re engine number for your car.

Quote your VIN without the first 6 digits and the last letter, this is the PSN for your car.

Getting in touch with GMH was useless..they dont have that data they say, records have somehow gone missing. Anyone ie Dr Terry, Warren, Byron or anyone else with any knowledge on how to verify this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

KEEP RINGING! try your local bloke if you want, if no luck try inter state but Holden has the info. I tried many times to get the original engine number for my LE but in the end I got it. They either don't care or could not be bothered trying to get it f

qr2 is early like hq...byron will answer it better...and qr and qt will also run into hz...does not end with hx...zr and zt started later in hz series...
