Ebaying it will probably set the price for you. By rolling shell do you mean bare shell on wheels or a whole car minus runninggear? |

its a complete car, just has everything removed from it, but still rolls. putting it on ebay would be a silly thing to do. would never get its true value on there.

thanks for the opinions. a little amazed that such a clean HG is only worth around a grand, guess its not a GTS or Monaro. glad i didnt do the thing up like as i was going to, what a grand waste of money that would have been.

Only a waste of money if you were planning on selling straight away. Doesn't always hurt to overcapitalise, especially if it's going to be a keeper.
Well, that's my excuse anyway, lol.

There are people out there that will pay $5-6000 for a nice kingy, but in pieces and needing paint ect its a big headache for most and expensive to restore. To restore a kingy or a monaro if both are complete is not much difference in price but one has a greater return if sold. If the car owes you nothing and you did it on the cheap for a few grand you may come out in front or a least get your money back.

Complete restored cars tend not to reach their true value on ebay. Dismantled, incomplete or basketcases tend to follow the opposite trend when people get carried away and pay more than they should. I reckon if it's clean like you say you'll get well over $1000 for it on ebay.

too many people want showroom condition cars or restored cars for SFA these days. redbook reckons they are worth between $2343 - $3491, not much at all really.

I still reckon Ebay is your best bet for that car. Unfortunately a pulled apart HG sedan no matter how good it is will struggle to get good $. If it was a HK or a HQ you'd be surprised what it'd fetch! |
