hey everyone
i have a ve ss ute lots of work done and im experiencing a hissing noise when i accelerate the noise sounds like its coming from around the bottom of the engine bay. im not sure wether its just the belts maiking the noise or a leaking seal but im not leaking any fluids
my mods include
lumpy cam extractors 3 inch exhaust with high flow cats moral lifters rocker arms performance valve springs russo's custom OTR air intake exceedy clutch minispool diff 4:11 ratio
can anyone give me some advice weather this is a normal sound or the could be something wrong

Yep, it could be normal or it could be something wrong. High flow air filters tend to make a bit of a hissing/sucking noise when you crack the throttle open. Otherwise check for loose vacuum hoses or try to pinpoint the source by ear.

Don't laugh while you are doing this, but grab a length of garden hose, maybe 1m long. Stick one end to your ear & then point the other end near where the noise is coming from using it like a stethascope. It's quite interesting what noises, good & bad, that you can isolate & pin point this way. Oh, & another thing, sort any issues you may or may not have with the car before posting in the For Sale section on the same forum at the same time. |
