You need the fans off an EF/NF/DF or an EL/DL/NL no difference between 6 and V8 models.

The only difference is that the EF series had a 2 speed (3 wires) motor for one of the fans and the EL they were both single speed motors with two wires each.

Don't get caught and buy AU fans as they won't fit 9taller and narrower radiators in the the AU) and the only part that interchanges are the fan retaining clips (I found this out the hard way) the easiest way to tell an E series fan assembly is that they have 8 blades per fan and the AU have 6 blades per fan.

I used a headlight dual relay so that I had one relay per fan as they draw well over 20 amps each when they start up. I also used a large diode so that the fans run with the A/C compressor which is important but the A/C compressor does not switch on with the fans.

For regulation I strapped a $6 Jaycar 80 degree temp switch to the bottom radiator hose. Being a V8 you have two lower radiator hoses with a metal joiner in the middle so this would be the perfect place to strap the thermistor.

I can probably dig up a rough wiring diagram that I did of mine.

I had mine running straight off the battery so that the fans still ran after the engine was switched off for a couple of minutes until the bottom hose got cool enough to turn the fans off but a few years later I wired them through the fuel pump relay so they switched off with the engine.

Early EB radiators did not have provision for the fan shroud top nuts (the nuts are square so get them off the donor car if you can) but I doubt that there would be ANY early EB radiators left in service these days.
