Post up the ID plate(s) details and engine number, this will be a good start.

Send me a pm and i'll reply so you have my email address. If you send the ID plate photos to me i'll get them off to the guru(s) who will tell you what it is.

Apart from body plate, engine number, etc,
The body will have a few items not seen on locally assembled HQ Statesmans.

Firstly - Centre of Steering wheel, and Interior door covers will have the Bowtie Insignia
If it is Floor shift Auto, the centre console rear ashtray will have Bowtie/Wreath Insignia
If it is a Vinyl Top car there will be Bowtie/Wreath Piller emblems.
Rear bumper bar will not have the Infills, just a straight rear bar.
Top of sills down each side will have narrow chrome strip, not wide.
There will be full length Rubber Body strip down each side, incased with chrome edging and pointers front and rear of each strip.
Fender emblems will be 350 slopped - (not Straight like 350 emblem from first Gen Camaro.)
The front grille will have one piece grille and Large Bowtie Grille Insignia, not two seperate grilles.
Hubcaps will have Bowtie Insignia in centre of them.

Does the Body No 84669 have an S or T after it?
There will be No Compliance plate fitted to vehicle, Only an Import Plate will be attached by Local vehicle Inspection Engineer.

Hi 73 chev,

S after the body number designates DeVille options, T after body number designates Caprice options.
In South Africa they were called Chevrolet DeVille and Chevrolet Kommando.
Another notable feature is the Diff - 10 bolt Salisbury and 12 Bolt Chev Posi-Traction were fitted.
Mine is a Caprice optioned with 12 Bolt Diff.

This one is just 84669, no S or T. It has a lion on the BODY plate so it probably must have been built here as an SUP, so probably has a 10 bolt. Maybe not though.

Single Unit Pack (whole car). CKD were supplied as kits to be assembled overseas. SUP went complete. That is how I understand it anyway.

Wow - that would be an awesome fixa-upper.

Not much to do to bring it back to the unique vehicle these HQ's are.
I'd love to have a second one in my collection, but dollars are tight, and I'm putting all my energy into my Camaro. Good luck with selling it, hope you get a good price for it.

Cheers
Geoff

Engine number looks like a Victorian Police restamp.
