Who built all the HQ Holden NRMA roadside service Vans or other vehicles for that matter ? Were they Belmonts or Kingswoods from the factory and prepared and customised for NRMA or a special from the factory ?.....Jack

They weren't, all were Belmont. Same with HJ.

They would have been built to order for the NRMA, including their unique fleet colours. The NRMA would specify things like heavy-duty alternators & radiators etc. because of their use in city traffic. The rest of the 'special' extra equipment would have been fitted in the NRMA's own workshop.

The one item that I do remember on the HQ-HZ NRMA vans was the single side window fitted to the left-hand rear side. I'm not sure if these were factory fitted or done by the NRMA.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Yeah these we're definately Belmont based. I remember getting a long ride back to Sydney in one of these after my dads XC Fairmont broke down out in the bush. Still remember that it didn't have the little ''Kingswood" badge on the dash to the right of the speedo.
