$2500 value in parts if you need them. But seriously, you have seen my Prem's photos. It was just under $10k, stuff all to do. There is no way a 253 HZ Prem in that condition is worth anything close to $6k. |

I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it to be brutally honest.

That roof is cactus, I have a HX prem that had the same amount of rust as that front corner under vynil, once you knock the bubbles off it will be a sizable hole straight through to the interior not to mention the rest of the roof, I would agree with about $1500-2000 if it drives well. $6000. should get a tidy prem with minimum rust and trim work, You might get $500 for the GTS dash if it all works maybe a couple on the GTS wheel, 253 with auto maybe $600 ,$350-400 -pwr steer etc. Keep looking you will find better.

For a panel shop to do a proper job of that roof rust could cost you $6000 dollars alone. |

What's an XR400 ??
A rusty HZ Prem is not worth $6,000, take a zero off. If it was a 308 TH400 it might be worth more for spare parts. It doesn't even have factory air.

I reckon if you wanted a driveline for a 6cyl car and it was all in good nick that there is possibly $2500 value in it. For starters a good 253 from radiator to flex plate, power steer, trimatic, engine harness, T-bar and console plus 3.08:1 disc brake diff with booster and cylinder is all good stuff. Add to that the dash and wheel, buckets if you need them and wheels (hopefully usable tyres). Panels don't look all that bad, with any luck you'd get a usable complete front and maybe a door, possibly some minor rust repairs needed. Plus other bits you need to keep one of these on the road like wiper motor, steering bits etc. If you'd bought yourself a tonner cab and chassis you could complete it with this car. I bought a HX Kingswood once that had a vinyl roof. It was a 253 T-bar as well. It had a roof as rusty as that HZ Prem and all the panels were really good except for a small hole in the driver's door where they always rust (front inner). |

I think that the important part of that phrase is :- "and it was all in good nick" Dr Terry |

You may also find gapping big rust holes and bubbles under those sill covers they are excellent mud traps , I had an LS monaro with almost half the sill gone from these covers.

Thanks for all your responses i gave the old guy a call and Told him I'm not interested.. I let him know that in its current condition he would find it hard to get over $2000 for it.
so if anyone wants a 2001 XR400 let me know :)
Cheers Carl
